If you are reading this review for a company like HawkHost you are probably just like me. You know the "Top rated" host can be nice but you also have this suspicion that there must be something better...Ler Mais hidden around, something that doesn't have enough marketing money and affiliate links to cause all these sites to put them in the Top 5. A hidden gem thats actually faster and of higher quality for a decent price.

HawkHost is that host, after trying them for a few weeks i was immensely satisfied and started migrating my other websites.

Every time you try to google a fast webhost you keep hitting the same bullshit reviews claiming a low ping is better then download speeds.
Claiming that these low pings make the site load fast and that you should get the affiliated host as a result.
HawkHost is a company that dares to be up front about quality, and for good reason.
If you visit their website you can have downloads and speed test pages from all there servers, you know the exact download speeds you are getting before having to sign up. This alone convinced me to try them out.

Alright, the network is crazy fast how about the specs of the server? Every webhost that has cPanel i always manage to get in the statistics page, for hawkhost this is also not hidden far away (I had to do much more effort for the big named company's as they sometimes really dont want you to see that). The statistics page revealed quite common statistics for a good host. The server isn't incredibly full, the CPU has plenty of space for your site and overall it is clear they do not overload there boxes. Swap however was sitting at 100% although i have seen this quite consistantly across these CloudLinux + Litespeed hosts so that might be a visual big more so then an actual problem.

As far as features go they have everything you might want from a cPanel host. Its to much to name specifically so ill point out the main ones such as up to date software. A range of PHP versions all the way up to 7.0. Free anti-spam appliances. Mailing list support, LetsEncrypt and Cloudflare support and many more as can be seen here on their website.

Finally we come down to support, my website somehow always tends to break when migrating to a different webhost. Somehow i always put in these tricks that are host specific and break on slight alterations. With hawkhost i encoutered a complicated issue caused by my complex .htaccess rules. When testing the site reported an IP from india. The indian tech support wasn't very helpful for this issue and reasonably quickly gave up and forwarded it to the internal department. There the LVL2 engineers where assisting me to locate the issue, although in the end i fixed it myself quicker with a workaround due to the uncommon nature of this specific problem. The support attempts after this where much more helpful, knowing how there support system worked i was worried i had to go trough the indian guys all the time having to wait longer for proper help, but this has proven untrue. The indian department is actually very helpful for the common issues most people find and will resolve most things reasonable quick. Things they can't solve will be forwarded to the internal department in canada so all in all support is pretty decent.

Finally ill end this review with some specifics, HawkHost seems to allow most outbound traffic. I had no issue communicating with any of the ports on my gameserver which i usually have problems with with other host as they need to open ports that in the worst cases get blocked later. This means HawkHost is a good host if you have to connect outbound to various sources. Inbound was a bit more problematic but still decent. They block all inbound traffic by default so you can't initiate a connection to the MySQL server from other applications. This means you will have to ask support to whitelist all IP's before they can connect and then allow those in cPanel as well. This should not be a problem for your applications, but can be a nogo if your MySQL developer needs proper tools and has a changing IP-adress.

All in all this host is incredibly good and should suit most of you perfectly no need to look further. However if you run a project which requires incoming non standard port (MySQL , etc) connections from various unpredictable sources this is not the host for you. There is a limit on 20 concurrent processes, which should be enough for most but is not suitable for huge websites.Menos

Avoid them as you can. After 8 years of being their customer, hundreds of $ spent, after a little, few months break, I decided to buy some simple shared hosting for a couple of my landing pages for domains I'm going to sell.
And...Ler Mais AFTER I ordered the hosting and PAID for everything for TWO YEARS in advance using PayPal, they contacted me saying, that they refuse to provide the service because I used a VPN!!! Can you imagine? 3/4 of TECH YouTubers advertise VPNs, recommend using them all the time, but HawkHost has not noticed that yet in 2022, and accuses and insults it's own customers! PayPal, Amazon, Google, banks, even this TrustPilot - nobody has problem with VPNs, but them!

So why didn't they just block that possibility, with an information to the customer to disconnect from VPN and try again? Why? Because they simply don't know HOW, they are unprofessional and they fear of VPNs, which means, that they must have been badly hacked or exploited by hackers using VPNs multiple times in the past. They still don't know how to defend themselves from that, so they primitively accuse all people using VPNs of bad intentions.

I also spotted, that they don't add VAT to any invoices for EU customers, so if you live in Europe, be prepared for significant price increase in the near future, because I'm going to report that. This is, by the way, an unfair competition against other hosting companies, who pay their taxes to the EU.Menos

I have professional hosting is nightmare they always want you to upgrade or they will shut down the services or do something else, so you can upgrade, they promise you something, they delivery what ever they want stay away.
Well ...Ler MaisI think really is going on here I will not upgrade if that is what you guys are looking for but something is not right I deleted so GBS files websites and every day there is more inodes someone is manipulating the system looks like is time time to search for a new hosting.Menos

HawkHost are, in my opinion, genuinely amazing.
I am the type of person who reads tons of reviews for finding a product or a service which is the best fit for what I need, so I read tons of reviews on them before using them, whic...Ler Maish was for the first time in 2018, when I had a website with them for a year - before I suspended for a while that start-up.
Well, I read tons of reviews on other similar services and companies, and I can say that HawkHost had the best reviews - and they still have - written by both techie guys and non-techie, like me. There were so many good reviews and still are on them, from people happy with both the technical aspects, and with the Customer Service. It is obvious that, for non-techie persons like me, a brilliant Customer Service means a lot, because how else could we be "saved" when we meet problems on the way? I mean, you other non-techie guys out there: you know very well what I mean: for us, even some simple beautiful technical jargon is like beautiful Chinese! yesterday, Wade literally saved me, with a great attitude and a great help, with things that I cannot even know how to explain to you, all I can tell you is that I will be finally able to start using my website for my new store!
BUT also, I confess I was and I will always be interested in the opinions of the other clients who understand what is about, clearly they have strong positions from where they can express what they feel and think about the services they receive, and I just read another opinion like this moments ago and again it confirmed to me that so many of these customers appreciate so much HawkHost  and see even more than what I see!
I would say, it is a winning card: what they do is genuinely exceptional. How they do it: genuinely amazing. I know that you cannot please everybody, nobody can, but they have so many Customers happy with them. And they will have many more, with such quality and attitude.

Best Hosting Ever in Decade

I already at hawkhost since 2011, so a decade host has no big complaint to them. I already try from share hosting to semi-dedicated server and all of them are great. Usually I will hunt their promo at black friday/cyber monday. Wi...Ler Maisth just $22 you got a year share host and quite good for all of my sites. I only send ticket no more than 30 in a decade because their cpanel show how much resources that I use and I try to maintain it. But if your website need DMCA ignore, please don't use them because once you got too many complaint then you must move to other host or you will be suspend.Menos

Worst Customer Service... Just trying to change my account email.. 2 yrs and 5 requests.. still not changed

Been asking since 2018 to have my old gmail address removed and use my icloud one...
its 2020 and you cant change it yourself... you have to request it with a service ticket...
Everytime.. they keep asking for something differen...Ler Maist and the ticket gets closed...
Latest is to respond to email chain and put my PIN in the email???

I've been with Hawk Host for more or less about 5 years and have subsequently in that time slowly grew my hosting package. I lately had to downgrade due to the Covid Situation to save costs where I can and Hawk Host were super hel...Ler Maispful as always in assisting which triggered my intentions of writing a positive review as they did not resist or try to upsell me, but supported my actions.

Over the years I've opened more than 50 support requests with Hawk Host and have almost always received a response within 12 hours - and no later than 24 hours - even on weekends. I would consider Hawk Host to be extremely valuable and reliable, and good value for money.Menos
